Tracey's challenges for cystinosis!
Tracey’s Challenges are now Completed!
Thank you so much to everyone who generously donated to my 6-month Challenge that I undertook to help raise awareness of cystinosis but most importantly to help raise funds that will contribute to the vital research into finding a cure for cystinosis.
I loved each event, enjoyed the training and even more so enjoyed seeing beautiful parts of our country. I'm delighted and relieved my body just about survived. It ended with a high on Valentia Island, where we got to swim across from the mainland to the Island, cycle around the Island, with beautiful views of the Skelligs, trying not to get distracted from racing ending with a hard run and a category win 🥇.
It was all worth it! Thanks so much to each and everyone who so kindly and generously donated, it means a lot.

Cystinosis is an ultra-rare disease, so rare it affects 1 in 100,000 to 200,000 newborns worldwide. On the island of Ireland 23 people live with cystinosis. To date there is no cure for this illness. Cystinosis Ireland invests in research to improve the understanding of the condition, and to improve therapies and treatments, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
